Program Details
YMCA programs include the following components as part of its Before and After Care programming: healthy snack, homework help, physical activity, hands-on art activities, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities, literacy, service learning, conflict resolution, and character development.
School’s Out Camp Hours
Programming is offered from 6:30am – 6:00pm during Fall Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, and Spring Break. A YMCA Membership is not required to attend School’s Out Camps. For more information on School’s Out Camps, please visit indymca.org.
Staff
All YMCA staff have received a minimum of 40 hours of training and have completed a drug test and a thorough background check. YMCA program ratios are one staff member to 12 children if 4-year-olds are included; one staff member to 15 children if 5-year-olds are included; and one staff member to 20 children if all children are 6-years-old and up. Staffing ratios are based on standards set by the State of Indiana.
Financial Assistance
The YMCA offers Financial Assistance to families who meet annual income requirements and CCDF Vouchers are accepted at some of our YMCA Before and After School locations. *In order to attend the YMCA Before and After School programs, every child must be enrolled each year. A child is NOT considered enrolled until payment has been received or an auto-draft has been scheduled.
